Notes for Thomas Norris Aufrere
His baptism transcript, by me:
“1772
. . . .
“November 8th Thomas Norris. son of Esquire [sic] Anthony and Anna ASufrere was baptised by Mr Barwick. Received into Church Aug 17th 1774 by N. Mathwes Vicar”
Almost certainly this was a case of an emergency baptism being performed on a sickly infant in his house, followed by a church baptism 9 or 10 months later, to make it official.
