Notes for Robert Erskine Lord Erskine
There is a problem about him:
In SP III, 532 it says that Alexander, 2nd lord Elphinstone m. Cstherine, dau of _John_, 4th lord Erskine.
In SP V, 608, it has the fourth lord as Robert Erskine and he did marry Isobel Campbell but did not have a dau. Catherine. Though his son John Erskine did have a dau. Catherine who m. Alexander Elphinstone.
In CP V 57, Elphinstone, and V 105, Erskine, is is clearly put that Alex Elphinstone m. Katherine dau. of Robert 4th lord Erskine and Isabel Campbell.
I have asked of anyone on s.g.m if they know any more about this.
