Notes for John de Courcy Lord Kingsale
A Burke edition: Lived in Rhode island.

CP: Was a sailor until 1748, after which he resided at Portsmouth, Hants, recognised as heir by the then baron in 1756, succeeding in 1759 and in 1761 the Irish Attorney and Solicitor generals granted his claim to be summoned to Parl.

Apparently the daughters of the previous peer and their husbands took exception to his succeeding and at one stage fired at him in his house so that he had to flee by a rear window and only regained possession with the aid of the sheriff.
